Originally designed in 1949 by Italian architect and designer Carlo Mollino, the 1949 Protractor Desk has become a renowned modernist writing desk. Examining the structural elements of the desk, one can truly appreciate its modernist design.
Raised stainless steel support buttons elevate the 15 mm thick tempered glass writing surface, while stainless steel bolt sleeves give the illusion of floating wooden beams. The slatted cube of 5 drawers is complemented by a 15 mm glass panel-covered pull out drawer, providing complete transparency.
The outer edge of this drawer is supported by two steel rods extending from boomerang beams.
This beautifully crafted desk boasts a brilliant lustrous finish, expertly replicating the original design.
